Jon Schofield, PB

Jon spent many years as a professional accountant. He worked for several years with larger companies, but sought a challenge working with smaller companies. He felt that his career was getting stale and lacked challenge.

He graduated from Universal Accounting's Professional Bookkeeper (PB) program and put the skills learned there to work for him. He grew his own accounting and bookkeeping service into a very profitable company. He is an example of what the Professional Bookkeeper™ program can do for anyone that applies its marketing principles. Jon states that before he took the Professional Bookkeeper™ course, he didn't know how to speak to small businesses, much less market to them.

Further, he was surprised at just how much money he could make with his own accounting and bookkeeping service. He states that when he attended a seminar presented by Allen Bostrom, he was skeptical that he could really make $30 to $60 per hour servicing small business clients. Well, his experience has made him a believer. Far from a get-rich-quick scheme, the principles taught in the course gave him a step-by-step process for building a profitable business. It took some work to get there, but Jon now reaps the rewards of what he describes as "the best decision I made in my career", starting a business with the Professional Bookkeeper system.

Jon enjoys working in the private sector with smaller companies. His insights and coaching have given small businesses a greater understanding of how to improve their financial health. Jon exemplifies what the Professional Bookkeeper™ program teaches: that the most interesting and profitable work in accounting is in support of small business.

Jon relates that working with small companies has "refreshed his career". Every day he learns something new, which keeps his interest in accounting alive.

Jon is married to a wonderful woman who encourages and supports him in his professional and personal life. They have 4 adorable children, 3 girls and 1 boy, ranging in age from 5 to 19.

When Jon has free time he loves to take fishing, camping, and hunting trips, watch basketball and football, and read good books.
