He ran his own successful training and consulting practice prior to Universal, working with small business owners who wanted to be as powerful in marketing their expertise as they were in providing it. He is a guest instructor for SCORE and the Utah Small Business Development Center.

He has served as Lieutenant Governor of Marketing for Utah and Idaho for Toastmasters International and is a past board member of the Utah Chapter of the National Speakers Association.
